Schroders plc announces that following his appointment as Deputy Chair of the BBC Board, in addition to his role as Chair of the BBC Commercial Board, Sir Damon Buffini has indicated that he will not be seeking re-election as a Director at the next Annual General Meeting, currently scheduled for 27 April 2023. Sir Damon will continue to support the Company in an advisory capacity.

Sir Damon joined the Board in February 2018 and is currently a member of the Nominations Committee and Remuneration Committee, having chaired the Remuneration Committee from November 2019 to April 2022.

Sir Damon said "I have had a long association with Schroders, having started my career here in 1988. I have greatly enjoyed being on the Board. Unfortunately, the time commitment required for my new role will not allow me to contribute as fully as I would like going forward. Schroders is in a strong position to deliver on its strategy and I wish the Company well."

Elizabeth Corley, Chair of Schroders said "Damon has made an enormous contribution to our Board and as Chair of the Remuneration Committee. We will be sorry to see him step down, but fully understand his need to focus on his role at the BBC. I am pleased we will continue to benefit from his experience in an advisory capacity."
