Appointment of Group Supply Chain Director
Science in Sport plc (AIM: SIS), the premium performance nutrition company serving elite athletes, sports enthusiasts and the gym lifestyle community, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Bott in the newly created role of Group Supply Chain Director.
Andy joins Science in Sport from The Hut Group where he was Group Manufacturing Director for Food & Beauty, a role that included responsiblilty for the three manufacturing sites of Myprotein, the world's largest online protein brand.
Prior to The Hut Group, Andy held senior roles with Glanbia Performance Nutrition and Adams Food Ingredients.
As Science in Sport's Group Supply Chain Director, Andy will hold international responsibility for the strategic and operational aspects of the PhD and SiS supply chains, including the manufacturing and e-commerce fulfilment operations in Nelson, Lancashire. He will join the business in late November 2019 and be based at the Nelson site.
Science in Sport's supply chain has evolved significantly during the current year, following the acquisition in December 2018 of the PhD brand. The new e-commerce fulfilment facility was opened in June this year and the opening a new powder line to accommodate the insourcing of PhD protein manufacture remains on track to become operational this month.
Science in Sport has identified significant growth opportunities for the Group over the next few years, which will be underpinned by robust supply chain management.
