THE SCOTTISH AMERICAN INVESTMENT COMPANY PLC (SAINTS)

Mr William Berry (a Director) notified the Company by letter on 25th February
2000 that he had resigned as a Trustee of Mr & Mrs R N Younger's M/C Trust
with effect from 25th February 2000.  Mr Berry no longer has an interest in
the Trust's holding of 13,800 SAINTS shares. 

Mr Berry also advised in the same letter that 1,688 SAINTS shares within the S
G Younger's Second 1985 Trust for which he is a Trustee have been resettled to
a new Trust of which he is not a Trustee.
