RESULTS OF GENERAL MEETING

The Scottish Oriental Smaller Companies Trust plc (the "Company") is pleased to announce that at a general meeting of the Company held earlier today the resolution to make certain changes to the Company's investment policy, as set out in the circular to shareholders dated 28 August 2013, was duly approved by shareholders.  The new investment policy will be adopted with immediate effect.

Details of the proxy votes lodged before the meeting will be available shortly at www.scottishoriental.co.uk.  A copy of the resolution passed at the general meeting has been submitted to the National Storage Mechanism and will shortly be available for inspection at www.morningstar.co.uk/uk/NSM.
