                               INVESTMENT POLICY


Following the publication by The Financial Services Authority of the Investment
Entities (Listing Rules and Conduct of Business) Instrument 2003, the Board of
Schroder Split Investment Fund plc (the 'Company') announces that it is the
Company's policy to invest no more than 15% of its gross assets in other listed
investment companies (including listed investment trusts). The Company's
prospectus published in December 2001 stated that the Company will not invest in
securities issued by split capital investment companies, and this remains the
case.
