Recommended Cash Offer for Sondex plc ("Sondex") by Drilling and Wireline
Solutions Limited ("DWSL"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Electric
Company.

Posting of Scheme Document

Sondex announces that the formal documentation relating to the recommended cash
offer ("Offer") by DWSL to acquire the entire issued and to be issued share
capital of Sondex is being posted to Sondex Shareholders today. Copies of the
Scheme Document are also being sent to holders of options under the Sondex Share
Schemes for their information only. The Offer is to be implemented by way of a
scheme of arrangement under section 425 of the Companies Act.

Shareholders will receive documentation including notices convening a Court
Meeting and an Extraordinary  General  Meeting  of Sondex  Shareholders  to 
approve  the  scheme  of arrangement
