Correction to announcement released at 07:00 on 7 August 2015 under RNS reference 3771V. The original announcement incorrectly stated the price that the number of shares bought back into treasury was 70,000. The actual number of shares bought back into treasury was 50,000.  The full corrected announcement is reproduced below.

Transaction in own shares - 7 August 2015

On 6 August 2015, Securities Trust of Scotland plc bought back 50,000 ordinary shares at a price of 134p per share to be HELD AS TREASURY. 

Following this purchase Securities Trust of Scotland plc holds 5,195,093 shares in TREASURY, and has a total of 117,104,055 ordinary shares with voting rights (excluding Treasury shares) in issue.
