Issue of Equity - 18 October 2013

The Board of Securities Trust of Scotland plc (the "Company") announces that on 18 October 2013 it issued 400,000 new ordinary shares in the Company at 147.00 pence per share. The shares were issued at a premium to the prevailing net asset value. These shares will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares in issue.

It is expected that the new ordinary shares will be admitted to listing on the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the main market of the London Stock Exchange on 23 October, 2013.

The shares in issue following this notification are 116,999,148.
