In conformity with the Transparency Directive's transitional provision 6 we
would like to notify the market of the following:

Securities Trust of Scotland plc's capital consists of 101,970,223 ordinary
shares of £1 with voting rights.
Securities Trust of Scotland plc does not hold any shares in Treasury, therefore
the total number of voting rights in Securities Trust of Scotland plc is
101,970,223.

The above figure (101,970,223) may be used by shareholders as the denominator
for the calculations by which they determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Securities Trust of
Scotland plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
