that Barclays plc, acting as agents  for its discretionary clients hold (either
directly or indirectly) a material interest of 16,243,018 ordinary shares of 
25p each representing 3.84% and a non-material interest of 7,669,474 ordinary
shares of 25p each representing 1.81%  with a total interest of 5.66% of the
issued share capital of the company.
