SEGRO appoints Chief Operating Officer and Chief Investment Officer

SEGRO, Europe's leading industrial REIT, announces the appointments of Andy Gulliford and Phil Redding to the new roles of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Investment Officer, respectively, reporting to Chief Executive, David Sleath.

As Chief Operating Officer, Andy Gulliford will be responsible for the Group's operational property teams both in the UK and Continental Europe.  The prime purpose of this role is to oversee the maximisation of total property returns from the portfolio and Andy will have responsibility for all leasing, customer and asset management activities and development.  Andy has been at SEGRO for seven years and for the past 18 months, he has been Managing Director of SEGRO's business in Continental Europe.

As Chief Investment Officer, Phil Redding will be responsible for determining the Group's investment strategy and its implementation.  This will involve overseeing capital allocation across the business and will include managing acquisitions and disposals.  All of SEGRO's local investment professionals will report to Phil to ensure a consistent and coherent approach is taken across the Group.  Phil has been with SEGRO for 16 years and is currently Business Unit Director for London Markets.

Following these changes, SEGRO's Executive Committee will comprise:

David Sleath                Chief Executive

Justin Read                 Group Finance Director

Andy Gulliford              Chief Operating Officer

Phil Redding                Chief Investment Officer

Liz Reilly                      Director of Human Resources

Following these changes, SEGRO has decided to re-organise its three UK business units into two. The two business units will be known as Thames Valley and the Regions, led by Gareth Osborn, and Greater London, led by David Bridges.  The current National Markets Business Unit will be absorbed into these two business units.

Commenting on these appointments, David Sleath said,

"Andy and Phil are two very talented and experienced property operators, who know the business well.  They will play vital roles as we focus on delivering operational excellence and disciplined capital allocation.

During his time in charge of our Continental European business, Andy has made considerable improvements to our operations there and I am delighted he will now broaden this focus to include the UK business.

Phil has played a vital role in two of the major transactions which have helped shape our existing portfolio - our takeover of Brixton in 2009, and the acquisition of our share of the Airport Property Partnership in 2010.  He is well connected in the real estate investment community and will bring a structured and disciplined approach to the Group's allocation of capital."
