The Singapore Para Rubber Estates, PLC ('the Company')
Result of Extraordinary General Meeting
The Company is pleased to announce that, at the extraordinary general meeting
and court meeting held this morning, all resolutions were duly passed.
Accordingly, the Board is pleased to announce that, subject to obtaining the
relevant court sanction in respect of the Company's proposed scheme of
arrangement ('Scheme'), (which is expected to be obtained on 2 July, 2001),
the merger with Bertam Holdings PLC will be implemented. It is also
anticipated that the mergers of Padang Senang Holdings PLC and Beradin
Holdings PLC with Bertam Holdings PLC will be implemented on the same date.
It is anticipated that the last date of dealings in the Company's shares will
be 5 July 2001 and that the effective date of the Scheme will be 6 July 2001.
Dealings in the new Bertam shares are expected to commence on 9 July 2001.
Share certificates in respect of the new Bertam shares are expected to be
despatched on or before 16 July 2001.
