The Company is pleased to announce that with effect from 20 December 2000 and
after 6 years as a non-executive director of Serco Group plc, Gary Sturgess is
resigning as a director to join the company in an executive capacity as Group
policy adviser. In this role Mr Sturgess will be responsible for advising the
Group in relation to e-government, and further developing the Company's
understanding of the public sector and government policy in relation to the
private sector around the world.
The Company is also pleased to announce the appointment of Betsy Bernard as a
Non-executive Director of Serco Group plc with effect from 20 December 2000.
Ms Bernard began her career at AT&T where she worked for 18 years. She is
currently executive vice president of National Mass Markets part of Qwest
Communications International. National Mass Markets which delivers integrated
communications, data and internet services to regional and national consumers
has a turnover of approximately $6.5billion.
Ms Bernard will bring to the Company a wealth of commercial experience, an
understanding of operating in an environment of rapidly changing technology
and knowledge of the North American market.
