Serco Group Non-Executive Board Changes
Serco Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr DeAnne Julius as
a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from Monday 29 October
2001.
Dr Julius has worked in both the public and private sectors and was a founder
member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England. She is a well
known economist and highly respected public figure in both the UK and the USA.
Her academic work has focused on the role of the service sector within the
economy and she took a special interest in productivity trends in UK services
whilst at the Bank of England.
Dr Julius is a Non Executive Director with the Bank of England and has
recently been appointed a Non-Executive Director of Lloyds TSB plc. She is a
member of the National Learning and Skills Council and is also Vice Chairman
of the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex.

reputation for her sound commercial and economic judgement and incisive
analytical skills. We welcome her to the Serco Group board and look forward

Serco also announces the resignation of Betsy Bernard as a Non-Executive
Director of Serco Group plc with effect from Monday 29 October 2001. Ms
Bernard was appointed President and CEO of AT&T Consumer Division in April
2001 and is now unable to devote sufficient time to her role with the Company.

are sorry that this has resulted in the need to reduce her external
commitments. We would like to thank Betsy for her contribution to the Group
and wish her well for the future.'
