                                 AGM Statement


At the Group's AGM today, Peter Levine, Chairman, will make the following
statement:

'Trading in the first five months of the year has been very good.  Our markets
remain robust and demand for structural steelwork projects, particularly larger
projects, continues to be significant.  We remain confident of further success
in 2007 and beyond.

'We announced at the results in April that John Severs, Group Managing Director,
intended to retire from the Board this year.  John will retire at the end of
this month but will continue as a consultant to the Group for a three year
period.  Following John's retirement, Tom Haughey will be appointed Chief
Executive Officer and Peter Emerson will become Chief Operations Officer.  Both
Tom and Peter have been Main Board Directors of Severfield-Rowen for a number of
years.

'On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank John Severs for the enormous
contribution he has made to the success of the Group, our employees for their
dedication and hard work and our shareholders for their continued support.'
