Further to its announcement last week Severn Trent announces that, following
the preliminary Court hearing on Wednesday 23 August, a full Court hearing
will take place on 21 September.  In the meantime, Dwr Cymru has given an
undertaking not to enter into the proposed contract with UU Co, although
Dwr Cymru is at liberty to apply to the Court for the lifting of this
undertaking.

The details of the UU Co contract were set out on 26 June 2000 in WPD's
offer document to acquire the whole of the share capital of Hyder Plc.
