On 20 December 2001, the Company was informed that the shareholding of Putnam 
Investment Management LLC and The Putnam Advisory Company LLC in the Ordinary 
Shares of 65 5/19p each of Severn Trent Plc had reduced to 6,612,166 shares, 
representing 1.93% of the total issued share capital of that class. 
Their interest in these shares is non-beneficial and the shares were acquired 
solely for investment purposes.
