announcement released on 29 February 2000 at 12.23 under RNS No 3981g.

The date for the announcement of Final Results for the year ending 31 March 2000
is 5 June 2000 and not 6 June 2000 as previously stated. 

All other details remain unchanged.

PRELIMINARY ANNOUNCEMENT OF FINAL RESULTS FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31 MARCH 2000

Severn Trent Plc will now announce its Final Results for the year ending 31
March 2000 on 5 June 2000.

At the same time the Company will also recommend the payment of a final
dividend on the Company's Ordinary Shares of 65 5/19 pence each for the year
ending 31 March 2000.

Associated dates relating to the payment of this final dividend for the year
ending 31 March 2000 are as follows:

Ex Dividend Date    14 August 2000

Record Date         18 August 2000

Payment Date        2 October 2000
