Severn Trent Plc, the environmental services group, announces the appointment
of Alan Perelman (53) as Group Finance Director Designate. He will join
Severn Trent on 1 October 2001. He was formerly Group Finance Director of
Whitbread Plc.
Alan Perelman will succeed Alan Costin as Group Finance Director on 5 December
2001, the day after the Company's interim results are announced. Mr Costin,
58, joined Severn Trent in May 1992; he will step down from the Board of
Severn Trent on 21 December 2001 and will remain an employee of the Company
until May 2002 to ensure a smooth transition.
