The Severn Trent Response to OFWAT's Price Determination

Severn Trent Plc today responded to OFWAT's price determination for the years
2000-2005.

Vic Cocker, Chief Executive, said 'the determination is the result of detailed
discussions with OFWAT which have clarified a number of important issues.  The
outcome was anticipated, but the OFWAT document requires more consideration.'

'We expect to make a full statement on 3 December, when we announce our
interim results for the six months ending 30 September 1999.'
