                                 Board Changes


Aurum Mining plc (AIM: AUR), the company formed last year to acquire gold and
other mineral extraction projects in the Former Soviet Union (FSU), is pleased
to announce the appointment of Mark Jones, an executive with considerable
international management experience, as Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Jones, age 45, will join Aurum's Board of Directors on 1 July 2005 and at the
same time John Webster, currently Aurum's Managing Director, will become a
Non-Executive Director of the Company.

Mr Jones, who holds an MBA from Newport University and an associate degree from
Columbia University, New York, is a Mining Graduate from the Camborne School of
Mines, UK. For the past five years Mr Jones has worked for Ingersoll-Rand
Company Ltd (NYSE: IR), a leading diversified industrial firm, most recently as
Business Unit Manager, Global Services, Ingersoll-Rand Europe.

He joined Ingersoll-Rand in 2000 as Managing Director of the company's South
African business prior to which he held various management positions in
explosives and chemicals companies in South Africa and Thailand. His early
career was spent in production mining roles at Anglo American's Bindura Nickel
Corporation in Zimbabwe.

Mr Webster will continue to provide technical input to Aurum in the areas of
project evaluation and development, including implementation of the drilling
services agreement between Aurum and PPI.

Commenting on Mark Jones's appointment, Sean Finlay, Aurum's Chairman, said: 'I
am delighted to announce Mark's appointment as Chief Executive Officer and to
welcome him to Aurum's Board. His international management experience and mining
background will be of significant value to Aurum. His appointment marks a
further important step in the Company's development.'
