                  Acquisition of Lariviere SAS ('Lariviere')-

                   Approval by French Competition Authorities

SIG plc ('SIG'), the leading supplier of insulation, roofing, commercial
interiors and specialist construction products is pleased to announce that the
French Competition Authorities have given their approval for the acquisition by
SIG of Lariviere, which was announced on 24 May 2007 (conditional on such
approval). Lariviere is the leading specialist roofing materials supplier in
France.

As there are no further conditions outstanding, SIG now expects to complete the
acquisition shortly.

Sales of Lariviere for the year ending 30 June 2007 are expected to be c. €340m
from 83 branches and the acquisition of Lariviere will make SIG Europe's largest
specialist supplier of roofing materials.

SIG will be issuing its usual mid-year Trading Statement on 6 July 2007.
