SIG BOARD APPOINTMENT

SIG plc, the leading supplier of insulation, roofing and commercial interiors
products with branches throughout the UK, Europe and the USA, announces the
appointment of Michael Borlenghi (aged 60) as non-executive Director with effect
from 2 April 2004.

Michael is Chairman of Eliza Tinsley Group plc and has held non-executive
positions in a number of public and private companies. He retired from GKN plc
Board in March 1991, where he was involved in a number of senior management
roles in the UK and overseas in a career spanning 25 years.

He will become a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.
