Board Appointment

SIG plc announces the appointment, with immediate effect, of Mr Christopher
Davies as an Executive Director. Mr Davies (53) is Managing Director Europe with
responsibility for the Group's operations in Mainland Europe, a position he has
held since 2001. He joined SIG in 1994 as a General Manager in the UK Insulation
business, before moving on to more senior positions within the SIG businesses
throughout Mainland Europe. He has extensive practical experience of operational
management and M&A activity.

Commenting on the appointment, SIG Chairman, Les Tench said:- 'I am delighted to
welcome Chris Davies to the Board. The growing importance of the Group's
European operations, and our future development plans in Mainland Europe have
led the Board to decide that these activities should have direct representation
at Group Board level.'

There are no further details required to be disclosed under LR9.6.13R and the
Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
