The Company was notified on 6 October 2005 pursuant to Section 198 of the
Companies Act 1985 that, as the result of recent purchases FMR Corporation and
Fidelity International Limited and their direct and indirect subsidiaries are to
be regarded as having a material interest in 11,005,235 ordinary shares of 10
pence in SIG plc representing 9.03% of the issued share capital.
