                           Trading Update Notification


SIG plc advises that it will announce its trading update for the year ended 31st
December 2004 at 7:00 am on Thursday 13th January 2005. An analyst conference
call will be held at 10:30 am on that day to discuss the update.


The preliminary results for the Group will be announced on Tuesday 8th March
2005.
