Messaging International Plc
Partners with leading US Mobile Operator
Messaging International Plc ('Messaging International' or 'the Company'), the
AIM-traded provider of innovative messaging services, announces that a second
leading US mobile operator has launched Messaging International's proprietary
Text to Landline solution. The service enables customers to send text messages,
which are converted to automated voice and delivered to any landline phone in
the US. The recipient can then send a voice message reply, which the original
sender can retrieve through a text message alert. Messaging International will
receive a percentage of the revenues received from every message delivered.
Horacio Furman, Chairman Messaging International said: 'We are delighted to be
working with several large tier 1 carriers in the US. This deal underlines our
commitment to building our international presence and represents a valuable
additional income stream for the business. We continue to make strong progress
in securing similar agreements with other global wireless operators and
interoperability providers to increase our market reach, improve our competitive
edge and boost revenue.'
The Text to Landline service converts text messages into voice format for
delivery to landline phones. When a Text to Landline call is answered, an
automated voice system delivers the message, and provides the wireless phone
number of the message sender. If the recipient has Caller ID display service,
the wireless phone number of the message sender will appear. The recipient can
then replay to the message, send a voice message reply to the original sender,
or terminate the call.
Meanwhile, the wireless user (original sender) will receive a confirmation text
message advising that their message has been successfully delivered, whether it
was delivered to an answering system or a live person, and whether a reply was
sent back. If a reply was sent, the mobile user can call into a unique telephone
number to listen to the response.
