Messaging International Plc ('Messaging International' or 'the Company')
Agreement with Israeli Mobile Operator Pelephone
TeleMessage, a subsidiary of Messaging International, the AIM traded provider of
innovative messaging services, has signed a contract with Israeli mobile
operator, Pelephone, to power a Mail2SMS service. The service enables Pelephone
subscribers to download a plug-in that integrates into Microsoft Outlook,
allowing them to send SMS messages as easily as sending and managing email.
Known as Mail2SMS and downloadable free of charge from Pelephone or TeleMessage
websites, the new service allows Pelephone mobile subscribers to sign-up with
their mobile number and send SMS to any mobile phone directly from their
Microsoft Outlook using established contact lists for both individuals and
groups. The SMS traffic will be charged to the mobile bill of the subscriber.
Yoav Harel, Products and Applications Division Director at Pelephone said:
'Pelephone offers its subscribers a variety of services, which enable them to
easily communicate wherever they are. The Mail2SMS service enables Pelephone
subscribers a very convenient method of sending SMSs from their PC and fits
extremely well into the overall content and product strategy that Pelephone
offers its subscribers.'
Messaging International CEO, Guy Levit said: 'We see the ability of sending
messages directly from the PC, integrating with Microsoft Outlook a natural
evolution of the SMS world. This will fuel additional growth in the SMS market
and simplify the creation of messages which are used to connect people. This
service will bring additional innovation to the growing SMS market. We believe
it is only the beginning of additional convergent PC and mobile services.'
