Capital Markets Event
"Strategies for growth"
Smart Metering Systems plc (AIM: "SMS", the "Group"), the fully integrated energy infrastructure company owning and managing meter assets, energy data, grid-scale batteries and other carbon reduction ("CaRe") assets, provides the following information ahead of its inaugural Capital Markets event at 14:00 BST today.
The webcast will be hosted by SMS CEO, Alan Foy, and will feature presentations from the Group's senior management teams.
The presentation will provide further insights into SMS's CaRe products and services as well as the scale of opportunities and SMS's strong competitive positioning within each category. Each of these CaRe assets are critical in supporting the energy transition and the presentation will cover, amongst other things, the following key topics:
- Overview of CaRe products and technology platform "Metis"
- "Established" CaRe products (smart meters, energy data, grid-scale batteries)
- "Developing" CaRe products (Behind-the-meter, ADM Australia, EV charging infrastructure, energy services, electrification of heat infrastructure)
- SMS's ESG leadership
The Group's existing installed asset base generated £49.9m EBITDA (31 December 2020). Delivery of the existing contracted smart meter order pipeline of 2.5 million meters and the 470MW grid scale battery pipeline is estimated to add a further £70 million of EBITDA.
SMS's fully integrated and scalable technology platform, Metis, positions the Group well to take advantage of significant additional opportunities:
- Within the "established" CaRe products and services, SMS have an addressable market opportunity of c. 1.2bn EBITDA.
- Within "developing" CaRe products and services, SMS has the potential for significant additional market opportunity, driven by the UK Government's decarbonisation agenda.
ESG remains at the heart of SMS's operations, as emphasised by our commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030 and carbon negative thereafter. Further insights into SMS's leading ESG credentials will be provided during the presentation.
No new material information will be disclosed.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the event.
