Granting of Options
1 March 2007
Advanced Smartcard Technologies plc, (SMRT) the Scottish based software group
specialising in smartcard technology announces that, on 28 February 2007, the
Company granted options over 1,166,666 Ordinary Shares in the Company to Tom
Doyle, Non-Executive Chairman of the Company.
These options have an exercise price of 3.7 pence per Ordinary Share and can be
exercised at any time from 28 February 2009 until 28 February 2017.
On 28 February 2007 the Company also granted options over 1,000,000 Ordinary
Shares in the Company under the Company's EMI Share Option Scheme. These
options are also exercisable at a price of 3.7 pence per Ordinary Share, and are
exercisable at any time from 28 February 2010 until 28 February 2017. The
objective of this scheme is to attract, motivate and retain staff and to align
their objectives with those of shareholders.
None of the Company's employees whom have been issued with options to subscribe
for Ordinary Shares in the Company pursuant to the EMI Share Option Scheme are
Directors of the Company. Nor are they significant or substantial shareholders
in the Company.
