ADMISSION OF NEW SHARES
Advanced Smartcard Technologies plc, ("SMRT") the Scottish based software group specialising in smartcard technology, is
pleased to announce that it has admitted 28,299,666 new shares in the company at 3 pence per share which raised
£848,990. The Placing was oversubscribed.
In addition to the Placing, two employees have exercised share options over 1,727,452 shares each making 3,454,904 new
shares in total. These shares have also been admitted to trading on AIM from today.
The proceeds of the placing will provide additional financial resources to further support the
Company's expansion as it continues to enhance product offerings and develop sales outlets for its smartcard software
products.
Since Admission in December 2005, SMRT has signed over £650,000 of new business and has a further strong pipeline of
sales prospects. Funds raised from this placing will be used to further develop three of the Company's key markets:
combating counterfeiting, biometric security systems and using smartcard systems as part of medical records management.
Anti-counterfeiting is a new market for the Company and it has now penetrated considerably further into the latter two
areas. The current funding will allow the Company to employ additional engineering and sales staff to manage and develop
new opportunities allowing SMRT to exploit these markets more fully.
