COMS LAUNCHES VIDEO CONFERENCING SERVICE AND EXTENDS RELATIONSHIP WITH POLYCOM
Coms plc, a provider of internet telephony services to business customers, today launches an innovative video conferencing service based upon the Polycom CX5000 video conferencing phone that was developed in partnership between Polycom and Microsoft.
Together the Polycom CX5000 Conference Station and Microsoft's Live Meeting application provide a unique group voice and video collaboration experience, giving remote participants a 360-degree panoramic view of the conference room and video that automatically tracks the flow of conversation for more productive and efficient meetings.
Coms provides an internet video service that will enable audio and visual communications between the devices. The Company will charge a monthly fee per user as well as a per minute usage charge. This will generate another recurring revenue stream for the Company.
Jason Drummond (Executive Chairman) said "I believe that the market for low cost video conferencing is going to grow exponentially and the new Polycom video conferencing device will become as ubiquitous as their existing iconic triangular conference phone. Coms's video conferencing service combined with Polycom's CX5000 will generate a new long term recurring revenue stream for the Company."

The CX5000 is additionally available for wholesale purchase by resellers from the Coms subsidiary VCOMM (UK) Limited ("VCOMM"). VCOMM has been the sole distributor of Polycom's IP range of phones in the UK since October 2007.
