VCOMM and E-MetroTel UC system partnership opens market for an estimated 1.4m new users in the UK

COMS is pleased to announce that VCOMM (UK) Limited ("VCOMM"), a wholly owned subsidiary and specialist distributor of internet telephony equipment and services today announced its partnership with E-MetroTel to market UC^x , a new innovative Unified Communications system that is designed to enable users of BT-supplied Nortel systems to keep their hardware while gaining all the benefits of using VoIP from service providers such as Coms. E-MetroTel estimates that approximately 1.4 million user endpoints of Nortel's Norstar & BCM systems have been installed in the UK by BT since 1992.

VCOMM is the exclusive distributor for the E-MetroTel UC^x portfolio of Unified Communications solutions.

UC^x is a cost effective communications solution for businesses of all sizes, designed specifically to save operating costs and deliver the latest in communication technology applications. These include SIP Trunking, SIP Telephone support, Call Centre, Meet Me Conferencing, Call Recording, Unified Messaging, Homeworking and Find-Me-Follow-Me services - all out of the box with no incremental feature license costs.

The UC^x natively supports Nortel heritage phones, providing a unique capability for Nortel customers to extend the life of their telephone system investment whilst getting all the value of moving to a true open SIP based Unified Communications solution.
