ADVANCED SMARTCARD TECHNOLOGIES
ACHIEVES INDUSTRY SECURITY MILESTONE
Advanced Smartcard Technologies plc, ("AST") the Scottish based software group
specialising in smartcard technology, that floated on the Alternative Investment
Market of the London Stock Exchange ("AIM") in December 2005 has announced that
it has been awarded an internationally recognised certificate for the security
of its software products.
AST's wholly owned subsidiary ECEBS Limited, has been awarded the 'Common
Criteria Standard', which is the most prestigious internationally recognised
security standard in smartcard IT, as adopted by government organisations in
leading countries including Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands, UK and USA.
This standard has been developed to demonstrate proof of best practice in IT
security.
