DS SMITH PLC BOARD CHANGE

DS Smith Plc, the leading supplier of recycled packaging, announces the following Board change.

Senior Independent Director

Jonathan Nicholls has taken over the role of Senior Independent Director with effect from 4 July 2012.  Jonathan takes over from Chris Bunker, who served as Senior Independent Director since January 2010 and as a Non-Executive Director since 9 December 2003.  Chris Bunker will remain as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and on the Board as a Non-Executive Director until the Annual General Meeting in 2013.
