DS SMITH PLC NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR APPOINTMENT

Further to the announcement made on 13 September 2012, DS Smith Plc confirms that Kathleen O'Donovan has today joined the Board as a non-Executive Director.

As required by the Listing Rules, it is confirmed that there are no changes to the details disclosed on 13 September 2012 pursuant to LR 9.6.13 R (1) to (6) and Kathleen O'Donovan does not hold any shares in the Company.
