                 DS Smith Sells BSK Plastic Packaging Business


DS Smith Plc (SMDS), the international packaging manufacturer and office
products wholesaler, has completed the sale of BSK, a plastic coating and
laminating business, to BSK Materials Limited.  BSK had net assets of £8 million
as at 31 October 2005 and employs 117 people at Rochester, Kent.


The sale of BSK, one of the smaller businesses within DS Smith's Plastic
Packaging segment, enables DS Smith to increase further its focus on its
principal Plastic Packaging businesses of liquid packaging and dispensing and
returnable transit packaging.
