Smith & Nephew briefs analysts on 2002 products.

Smith & Nephew, the global advanced medical devices company, today briefed
analysts and investors attending the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in
Dallas, Texas, on the products being launched in 2002 in their orthopaedic and
endoscopy businesses.  The meeting was hosted by Chris O'Donnell, Chief
Executive, with presentations made by Larry Papasan, president of orthopaedics,
and Ron Sparks, president of Endoscopy.
