New heads for Aerospace and Medical
step into their posts at Smiths Industries
At Smiths Industries, John Ferrie has taken up the position of Group Managing
Director, Aerospace, in succession to Norman Barber, who retired on 31 July
after nine years with the company. Dr Ferrie, 53, joined as an executive
director in April.
On 4 August, Lawrence Kinet will take up the position of Group Managing
Director, Smiths Industries Medical Systems, in succession to George Kennedy
CBE, who retires on that date after 28 years with the company. Mr Kinet, 53, a
US citizen, joined as an executive director in February.
The company's third business, Industrial, continues to be run by its Group
Managing Director, Einar Lindh. Alan Thomson continues as Financial Director.
All four report to Keith Butler-Wheelhouse, Chief Executive.
