ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS AND RECOMMENDATION OF DIVIDEND
It is expected that a duly constituted committee of the Board will meet on
Wednesday 24 September 2003 for the purposes of (i) approving a preliminary
announcement of the results of the Company for the 52 weeks ended 31 July 2003
and (ii) recommending a final dividend on the ordinary shares for the same
period.
Subject to approval at the Annual General Meeting, the 2003 final dividend will
be paid on 14 November 2003 to ordinary shareholders registered at the close of
business on 17 October 2003. The 'ex-dividend' date will be 15 October 2003.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Annual General Meeting of Smiths Group plc for 2003 will be held at 12:00
noon on Tuesday 11 November 2003 at the offices of JP Morgan plc, 10
Aldermanbury, London EC2V 7RF.
