Notification of Preliminary Results

Smiths News PLC, the UK's leading wholesaler of newspapers and magazines and a leading UK book wholesaler, will be announcing its preliminary results for the year ended 31 August 2010 on Thursday 21 October 2010.

A meeting for analysts will be held at 9.30am at the offices of Buchanan Communications, 45 Moorfields, London EC2Y 9AE on Thursday 21 October 2010, with an audio webcast of the results presentation available thereafter.
