Smurfit Kappa Group plc announces that it has received a notification on 27
November 2007 pursuant to Part 5 of the Transparency (Directive 2004/109/EC)
Regulations 2007 as follows:-

As at the close of business on November 23, 2007, Causeway Capital Management
LLC held the voting rights over 9,740,921 shares in Smurfit Kappa Group plc (the
'Company'). Based on an issued share capital figure of 217,970,995, this
shareholding amounts to 4.47% of the voting rights in the Company.

These shares are registered in the nominee names on behalf of a number of
beneficial holders each of whom is the beneficial owner of a portion of the
shareholding.
