Holdings in Company

In accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules ('DTR'), Solomon Gold plc (the 'Company') was informed on 4 August 2009 by Barclays PLC that, in fulfilment of its obligations under Rule 5 of the DTR, on 31 July 2009, Barclays PLC held (through Barclays Stockbrokers Ltd) 7,803,429 ordinary shares of 1 penny each in the capital of the Company, representing approximately 9.19 per cent of the Company's issued share capital.

The Company currently has 84,941,504 shares on issue.

This represents an increase of 1,135,850 shares over the previous Holdings notification published by the Company in respect of Barclays on 14 July 2009.
