Solid State plc
("Solid State")
£1m+ Solid State Supplies contract with Renishaw
Solid State plc (AIM: SOLI), the AIM listed supplier of specialist industrial/ruggedised computers, electronic components, secure communications systems and battery power solutions to the electronics market, is pleased to announce that its components division, Solid State Supplies, has secured a contract worth in excess of £1m for the supply of programmed semiconductor devices for use in Renishaw's metrology products.
The contract, which will be delivered over the next 12 months, was secured as a result of Solid State Supplies having its secure AS9100 certified in-house programming department and being able to streamline Renishaw's manufacturing process. This value added process enables Renishaw to import the component directly onto the manufacturing line without having to undertake any pre-programming, therefore saving considerable time and effort.
Commenting on the contract, John Macmichael, Managing Director of Solid State Supplies, said:
"Renishaw have always been viewed as innovators in precision manufacturing. It is very pleasing to have been brought into their supply chain through recognition of our own initiatives in component supply."
