Sopheon plc ('the Company') announces that pursuant to the exercise of options
under the Employee Share Options Scheme, it has allotted 400,000 Ordinary
Shares of 5p each in the Company to Richard V Maddocks, Director, for a total
consideration of £80,000.  These shares rank pari passu in all respects with
the existing ordinary shares in the Company.  Application has been made to the
London Stock Exchange for permission to trade these shares on AIM and it is
expected that dealings will commence on Friday 10 March 2000.
