SOPHEON PLC
EXPECTATIONS FOR 2000
AND DATE FOR PRELIMINARY RESULTS ANNOUNCEMENT
Sopheon plc ('Sopheon'), the international knowledge management software,
services and content group announces today that its consolidated revenue for
the year ended 31 December 2000 is expected to show a five-fold increase over
1999's reported figures. Sopheon also confirmed that it expects 2000 pro
forma revenues to be comfortably in line with its broker's revised expectations
of £14.5 million.
Sopheon's Chairman, Barry Mence commented :
'We have become increasingly concerned with the downward pressure on our
share price and wanted to reassure investors that we have continued to make
substantial progress since our 'Third Quarter Trading Update' and are upbeat
about the outlook for 2001. We remain highly confident in the market take-up
of our recently combined products and services. We closed a number of deals
during the year-end period, which we are now busy with in our research and
services groups, as well as delivering on new software products sold to our
healthcare customers. Our sales pipeline continues to strengthen. In
particular, we firmly believe that our new software product Accolade, backed
by the leading industry experts PDI, will be the solution of choice for major
corporates wishing to automate their new product development processes. There
has been a very encouraging market response to this product.'
Sopheon expects to issue its preliminary results statement for the year ended
31 December 2000 on 30 March 2001.
