2016 FINAL DIVIDEND CURRENCY EXCHANGE RATES

South32 Limited (ASX, LSE, JSE: S32) (South32) advises the currency exchange rates applicable for the final dividend of US 1 cent per share in respect of the 2016 financial year.

The US cent currency conversion rates applicable to the dividend payable in Australian cents, British pence and New Zealand cents are detailed below and were determined as the volume weighted average price achieved on foreign exchange trades executed over the period 19 to 22 September 2016:

On 12 September 2016, South32 announced to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange that the US cent currency exchange rate applicable to the dividend payable in South Africa cents to shareholders on the South African branch register on the Record Date is the volume weighted average price achieved on foreign exchange trades executed on 9 and 12 September 2016:
