Regional airports contract gives exposure to 19 million more consumers per year
Passengers travelling through regional airports have doubled over the last ten years due to the rise of low cost short haul flights.
SpaceandPeople, (AIM: SAL) the experiential marketing and media group, announces it has been awarded a new contract to help provide experiential marketing services in eight regional airports across the UK.
The agreement with Airport Partners Ltd, the largest regional airport advertising company in the UK, includes Southampton, Exeter, Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle, Norwich, Blackpool and Plymouth airports, which have a combined footfall of around 19 million passengers per year.
Regional airports have grown significantly in popularity in the last ten years, with footfall doubling on average, due to the rise of low cost air carriers and short haul city breaks to European destinations.
Under the agreement, SpaceandPeople will provide experiential marketing campaigns for a mix of local and regional clients as well as major national and international brands. SpaceandPeople currently provides experiential marketing campaigns for Coca-Cola, Nintendo and Smirnoff in shopping centres and retail parks throughout the UK, as well as Germany.
Matthew Bending, Group Chief Executive, said: "We are very excited about this great contract win for SpaceandPeople. Passenger numbers using regional airports have grown significantly in the last decade and these airports are now great places for brands to engage with consumers. We are delighted to be able to offer our clients these fantastic locations as part of our venue portfolio."
Paula Oliver, Managing Director, Airport Partners said "We are delighted to be working closely with the SpaceandPeople team to help develop the value of our experiential opportunities. Airport Partners have amazing spaces in regional airports for brands to reach an affluent, domestic audience with time on their hands and we are convinced these sites will work well with SpaceandPeople's existing portfolio to our mutual benefit."
