Donations to feed the hungry in a time of great need

Spectra Systems Corporation, a leader in machine-readable high speed banknote authentication and brand protection technologies, and gaming security software, is donating $40,000 to help the hungry and homeless in the United Kingdom and the United States of America during the global coronavirus pandemic. The donations are equally divided between the UK and the USA and are being made to the three organizations.

In the United Kingdom, the funds will be donated to the London Evening Standard Food for London site ( virginmoneygiving.com/fund/FoodforLondonNOW ) . This fund acts as a central collection point and distributes the money to local charities and organizations for food banks, food parcels and school meals for vulnerable children.

In the United States, the funds will go to two organizations equally.  These are the Rhode Island Food Bank which provides food for many families unable to survive on their own ( https://www.feedingamerica.org/find-your-local-foodbank/rhode-island-community-food-bank ) and the Mathewson Street Church that has provided meals for the homeless in Rhode Island for many years ( https://www.mathewsonstreetchurch.org/ ).

Dr. Nabil Lawandy, Chief Executive Officer, stated: "Spectra is an American company which prides itself on its relationship with the UK.  We have a strong cash position giving us an opportunity to help people who are suffering from hunger in these difficult times. I thank the shareholders and the Board for the opportunity to help people in need on both sides of the Atlantic during this global pandemic."
