SPECTRIS ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF ACQUISITION OF
PHILIPS ANALYTICAL
Spectris plc, the precision instrumentation and controls company, announces that
it has today completed the acquisition of Philips Analytical, which has been
renamed PANalytical.
PANalytical is a world-leading supplier of instrumentation and services for
analytical x-ray systems. The company's equipment is used in industrial and
scientific research laboratories to determine the structural characteristics of
a wide range of materials and in industrial process and quality control to
measure the composition and purity of materials.
The acquisition of PANalytical is in line with the Spectris strategy to focus on
niche businesses with good growth prospects and market-leading positions,
supplying high margin products developed using proprietary technology, and is a
logical addition to the existing Spectris instrumentation businesses.
PANalytical's existing staff and management team have transferred with the
business, which will form part of the Spectris Process Technology sector.
Hans Nilsson, Chief Executive of Spectris, commented: 'We are pleased to welcome
the management, staff and customers of PANalytical to Spectris. The process of
integrating the business into the Spectris group of companies is progressing
well.'
